School Psychologist Responsibilities

School psychologists work with children in grades K – 12, helping them with academic struggles, disabilities, behavioral and emotional issues. School psychologists promote wellness within a school by providing these students with anger management, social, and communication skills. Assessing students’ progress and collaborating with other educators is another major responsibility for school psychologists.

School Psychologist Requirements

Before you begin working as a school psychologist you need at a minimum a master’s degree. Many school psychologists go back to school and receive a Doctor of Education or Doctor of Philosophy. Most states, but not all, then require certification from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) where they can then receive state licensure.

The job outlook for school psychologists is very promising. The psychology profession as a whole is expected to see a 14% growth in the upcoming years. Virtual School Psychologist Needed for a School District in Colorado!

Job Description:

  • Full-Time Position (Open to Part-Time Candidates too!)

  • Monday - Friday

  • Location: Colorado Springs, CO

  • Pay: Typically ranges from $40-50/hour 

  • Caseload Details: Evals, Potentially Some Counseling

  • More Details Available Upon Interview!

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual psychological assessments to identify student needs

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff through Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to student in conjunction with an onsite staff member

  • Potentially engage with families to provide insights on virtual care

Job Qualifications:

  • Masters or Doctorate Level Degree in Educational or School Psychology

  • Active School Psychologist Licensure in the State of Colorado
  • 2 Years Previous Experience in School Settings

  • 2 Years Previous Experience with Teletherapy (preferred)

Please note that this position is a contracted position through VocoVision and ProCare Therapy. It will be a 1099 Independent Contractor Position, which ultimately means the following:

  • No benefits on offer

  • You must be willing to obtain your own Liability Insurance

  • You must be willing to complete our Technology Test to ensure you are technologically qualified for the role
