School Psychologist Responsibilities

School psychologists work with children in grades K – 12, helping them with academic struggles, disabilities, behavioral and emotional issues. School psychologists promote wellness within a school by providing these students with anger management, social, and communication skills. Assessing students’ progress and collaborating with other educators is another major responsibility for school psychologists.

School Psychologist Requirements

Before you begin working as a school psychologist you need at a minimum a master’s degree. Many school psychologists go back to school and receive a Doctor of Education or Doctor of Philosophy. Most states, but not all, then require certification from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) where they can then receive state licensure.

School Psychologist Salary & Job Outlook

The job outlook for school psychologists is very promising. The psychology profession as a whole is expected to see a 14% growth in the upcoming years. School Psychologist

ProCare Therapy is currently searching for a qualified School Psychologist in Soledad that is seeking to join one of our trusted school districts for the 2023-2024 school year. At ProCare Therapy our mission is to make life better for those who make lives better. This is a contracted position looking to be filled.

Requirements for this role:

  • A Masters or Doctorate Level degree in School Psychology
  • Must be a school psychologist or clinical psychologist
  • PPS credentials
  • Applicant must hold a State issued License and a State issued Education Certification in California

Position Details:

  • Full time position
  • K-12 caseload
  • You will be responsible for collaborating IEP s and other assessments with other educational experts
  • Supporting our existing staff in catching up on assessments and completing new assessments develop successful classroom procedures and rules
  • Planning and placement team meeting participation
  • Other general psych duties
