School Psychologist Responsibilities

School psychologists work with children in grades K – 12, helping them with academic struggles, disabilities, behavioral and emotional issues. School psychologists promote wellness within a school by providing these students with anger management, social, and communication skills. Assessing students’ progress and collaborating with other educators is another major responsibility for school psychologists.

School Psychologist Requirements

Before you begin working as a school psychologist you need at a minimum a master’s degree. Many school psychologists go back to school and receive a Doctor of Education or Doctor of Philosophy. Most states, but not all, then require certification from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) where they can then receive state licensure.

The job outlook for school psychologists is very promising. The psychology profession as a whole is expected to see a 14% growth in the upcoming years. With the 2023-2024 school year winding down, now is the time to be on the lookout for your next full-time opportunity for the 2024-2025 school year. We are a school contract staffing agency currently working with a wonderful school district near the Easley, CA area and actively seeking applicants for the district’s full-time School Psychologist opening starting in August for the 2024-2025 school year. Unlike other staffing agencies, ProCare Therapy works exclusively with school districts, and we know how to work with both yourself and the districts in order to find you the perfect position to consider. Job Assignment Details:

  • Competitive Hourly Pay Rates (further details upon request)
  • Benefits: Insurance Benefits provided (Medical, Vision & Dental)
  • Guaranteed Hours: Full-time (35-40 hours per week)
  • Assignment Start & End Date: March 2024 – June 2024 ( opportunity for renewal 24/25 )
  • Case Load Description: School Psychologist will be working with a specific caseload of students one of the district’s school locations. 
  • Responsibilities: The School Psychologist will be responsible for on-site counseling, evaluations & general campus support through the end of the current school year. 


Job Qualifications:

  • Degree: Master’s Degree in School Psychology
  • License / Certification: Active South Carolina state license for School Psychology
  • Previous school experience required, but first-timers are also welcome
