Paraprofessional Jobs

As a paraprofessional, you are an essential piece of a classroom, assisting children in need and allowing them to develop among their peers. At ProCare Therapy, we are connecting paraprofessionals, like you, with schools every day so they can make an immediate impact without worrying about the hassle of finding a job. Our team provides you with the career support you need so you can focus on what's most important - supporting those students in need.

Paraprofessional Duties

Paraprofessionals work in collaboration with a licensed teacher in a classroom setting. When teachers present new lessons or materials, paraprofessionals help reinforce what was taught in small group settings or individually to students. As a paraprofessional, teachers seek feedback from you on the progress of students and they may need you to assist in grading students' coursework. If you are a special education paraprofessional, you may be required to shadow a specific group of students throughout the day and to work with them and their teachers inside the classroom.

Paraprofessional Requirements

A majority of school districts require that paraprofessionals complete at minimum two years of education and that they obtain an associate’s degree. Some states and districts have an assessment certification that is required as well. Generally speaking, paraprofessionals need strong communication skills to discuss students’ progress with teachers and parents. Patience and resourcefulness are additional qualities that are important to possess.

Paraprofessional Salary & Job Outlook

Like many positions in the education and healthcare industry, paraprofessionals are expected to see an 8% growth in job openings and an increase in salary over the next 7 years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. ProCare Therapy is looking for dedicated paraprofessionals that are ready to make a difference in the students' lives. Search our open paraprofessional jobs below.
