Location: Phoenix, AZ (Remote)
Employment Type: Contract (1099)
Contract Duration: January - June 2024
Hours: Full-Time (35-37.5 hours per week)

Procare Therapy is currently seeking a qualified and experienced K-12 Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team for the 2024 school year. As a Virtual SLI, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and other school staff in an online learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide virtual sign language interpretation services for K-12 students in an online education setting.
• Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure effective communication for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
• Participate in virtual meetings and discussions related to student progress and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Maintain accurate records of interpreting services provided.

Requirements:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of other sign language systems.
• Relevant experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings.
• Proficient in virtual communication tools and platforms.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to the virtual learning environment and use technology effectively.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting or related field.
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter.
• Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card.
