Job Opening: Virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
School Location: Ridge, Missouri

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team. This is a full-time position with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will provide virtual instruction and support to visually impaired students, promoting an inclusive and accessible learning environment.

Requirements:

• Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
• Strong knowledge of adaptive technology and resources for visually impaired individuals.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs.
• Commitment to promoting inclusivity and accessibility in education.

Responsibilities (May vary depending on exact role):

• Conduct lessons and activities tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and other educational professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Utilize adaptive technology and resources to enhance the learning experience for visually impaired students.
• Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
• Provide guidance and support to classroom teachers and other staff to facilitate the integration of visually impaired students into mainstream educational settings.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and confidence among visually impaired students.
