Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field.
• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) (or eligibility for certification/licensure).
• Previous experience working with students with visual impairments, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of visual impairment characteristics, assessment techniques, and instructional strategies.
• Proficiency in braille literacy and familiarity with assistive technology for students with visual impairments.

Responsibilities:
 

• Adapt instructional materials and classroom environments to make them accessible to students with visual impairments, including the use of tactile and auditory learning materials.
• Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers and other school staff on strategies for including students with visual impairments in the general education curriculum and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with community agencies, vision specialists, and assistive technology experts to coordinate support services and resources for students with visual impairments.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and support strategies as needed to promote growth and achievement.
