Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing- ESY contract

Position Available: Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Location: Alhambra, CA
Start Date: June 3
End Date: June 28
Hours: 4-5 hours per day
Grade Levels: Preschool or 3rd-7th
Class Size: 6-8 students

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a self-contained classroom setting
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
• Use American Sign Language (ASL) fluently to communicate with students
• Collaborate with other educators and professionals to ensure students' academic and social success
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and development

Requirements:

• Valid teaching credential with Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialization
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a must
• Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
