Title: Teacher Aide

Location: San Francisco, CA

Description:

Our school district in San Francisco, CA is seeking a passionate teacher aide. Paraprofessional responsibilities include providing staff support in an educational or childcare environment. Paraprofessionals will work with children individually or in small groups by providing basic instruction on reading, writing, math, and other education related activities as assigned by teachers' directions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students in the classroom, under the direction of the classroom teacher or special education staff
• Must have behavior experience.
• Work one-on-one with students who have special needs or require additional support
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional growth of all students
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodation plans
• Support students during meals, recess, and other school activities
• Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment

Position Details:

• Multiple openings K-12
• Severities may vary - anywhere between mild-mod-severe . •Candidate may be required to support toileting/diapering.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require an associate's degree or higher)
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the students and classroom.
