Summer Contracts: SPED Teachers (Arlington, VA)

Duration: Summer SPED, Hourly Contract

Job Description:
We are currently seeking experienced Special Education Teachers to fill multiple openings for our Summer SPED program in Arlington, VA. These positions are for 20 openings, with a schedule from 9:15 am to 1:15 pm, running from July 8th to August 2nd, 2024. There will be three days of prep required on June 28th, July 1st, and July 2nd.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience and training in working with students with complex needs, nonverbal students, and students with significant behavioral needs.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching MIPA (Multiple Intensive Programmatic Assistance) and Life Skills classes.
• Valid certification or licensure in Special Education.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver instruction tailored to the individual needs of students with disabilities.
• Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) for each student on the caseload.
• Provide direct instruction and support in academic, social, and life skills development.
• Utilize appropriate strategies and interventions to address behavioral challenges and promote positive behavior.
• Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including related service providers, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and participation.
