Are you a dynamic and dedicated Special Education Teacher looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of middle and high school students? We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team in Chicopee, MA. This full-time position offers the chance to work with students who have diverse learning needs and to contribute to their academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that goals and objectives are tailored to each student's unique strengths and challenges.
- Provide direct instruction in a variety of subjects, adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate students with different learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments where students with disabilities can participate fully and meaningfully.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving academic success.
- Monitor student progress regularly, assess learning outcomes, and adjust instructional plans as needed to address individual needs and promote growth.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom climate where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid Massachusetts Teaching Credential with Special Education Authorization.
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
