Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Choctaw, MS
Duration: NSY (Next School Year), 2024-2025

Job Description:
We are currently seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers for middle school/high school and elementary self-contained SPED classrooms in Choctaw, MS. The ideal candidates will have experience working with a range of disabilities and will be able to provide effective instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and adapt instruction to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities.
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students based on assessment data and IEP goals.
• Provide instruction in core academic subjects, social skills, and functional life skills.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
• Collaborate with other members of the special education team, including paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education teachers.
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and discuss concerns or issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid special education teaching license or certification in Mississippi.
• Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a self-contained classroom setting.
• Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices and strategies for students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively utilize technology for instruction and data collection.
• Virtual candidates must have their own professional liability insurance.
