Special Education Teacher Needed in Chebeague Island, ME - ProCare Therapy

As a vital member of our school community, you will have the opportunity to utilize your expertise and compassion to support students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
• Provide direct instruction and support in various academic subjects based on students' unique needs
• Collaborate with other members of the education team, including general education teachers, therapists, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive support for students
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and services provided

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Valid Special Education teaching license or certification in the state of Maine
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism, intellectual disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students
