We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team near Sheboygan, WI. Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a high school setting.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student, tailoring instructional strategies and accommodations to meet their unique needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to develop and implement effective educational plans for students.
- Differentiate instruction to address students' individual learning styles, abilities, and interests.
- Utilize a variety of teaching techniques, materials, and technology to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
- Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and provide timely feedback to students and their families.
- Implement behavior management strategies and provide social-emotional support to help students develop essential skills for success.
- Collaborate with other members of the school team, such as counselors, therapists, and administrators, to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience for students.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with the latest research and best practices in special education.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of student progress, attendance, and other relevant information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Teaching certification in Special Education is required).
- Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
