Special Education Teacher - CONTRACT

Job Title: Special Education Teacher (SPED)
Location: Washington D.C.
Duration: ASAP - End of School Year

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The position is full-time and involves a mixture of push-in co-teaching and pull-out instruction for a caseload of middle school students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach in inclusive classrooms
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
• Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to support student learning and achievement
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid teaching license or certification in Special Education
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to meeting the diverse needs of all students
