Sign Language Interpreter Needed in the Inwood, IN Area

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team. As an SLI, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and those who use spoken language. Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and other staff members
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure effective communication in the classroom
• Attend meetings, conferences, and other school-related events as required
• Maintain accurate records of interpretation services provided

Requirements:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to various educational and professional environments
• Knowledge of educational practices and terminology (preferred)
• Previous experience working in educational settings (preferred)

Working Hours: The position requires a commitment of 35-38 hours per week, with a flexible schedule based on the needs of the students and the educational institution.
