Sign Language Interpreter Needed in Fort Myers, FL

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in Fort Myers, FL. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students while working in a supportive educational environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation and transliteration services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and other school staff members.
• Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and exams to ensure equal access to education for all students.
• Collaborate with special education teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Maintain accurate records of interpreting services provided and student progress.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting, Deaf Education, or related field.
• RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification preferred.
• Florida Educational Interpreter Certificate or ability to obtain certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to various educational settings and work collaboratively with school staff.
