Sign Language Interpreter - Bloomington, IN

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in Bloomington, IN. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will provide interpretation services for individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing in various settings, including educational, medical, and community environments. The ideal candidate will be proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services for Deaf or hard of hearing individuals in educational, medical, and community settings.
• Facilitate communication between Deaf or hard of hearing individuals and hearing individuals.
• Follow ethical guidelines and standards of practice for interpreters.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to ensure effective communication.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting or related field preferred.
• Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different environments and situations.
• Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter preferred.
