Position Available: School Nurse (RN)

Location: Naperville, IL; Downers Grove, IL; Surrounding areas
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Position Type: School Nurse

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
• Certification as a school nurse (CSN) preferred
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or pediatric setting
• Flexibility to work across multiple school locations and with various caseloads
• Certification as a paraeducator (para cert) is required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care, assessment, and treatment to students with a variety of medical needs, including administering medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed
• Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, allergies, and seizures, ensuring their safety and well-being during the school day
• Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health care plans (IHCPs) and emergency action plans (EAPs) for students with special medical needs
• Conduct health screenings, assessments, and immunization reviews to promote the overall health and wellness of students
• Serve as a resource and educator for school staff, students, and families on health-related topics and issues
• Participate in the development and implementation of school health policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state regulations and best practices
