We are now interviewing full-time or part-time psychologists to work with a supportive school district in Marion, SC for the new 2024/25 school year.
Pay Rate: $40-$43 Hour, based on experience

  • Onsite
  • Monday – Friday 
  • Start: Date: Fall 2024

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate in School Psychology
  • Valid South Carolina School Psychologist license
  • Prior school experience appreciated, but not required
  • The responsibilities of a school psychologist can vary depending on the specific school or district, but they generally encompass a range of roles related to supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. Here are some common responsibilities of school psychologists:

  • Assessment and Evaluation:

    • Conducting psychological assessments to identify learning disabilities, intellectual abilities, emotional functioning, and behavioral issues.
    • Administering standardized tests and other assessment tools to gather data about students' cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional functioning.
    • Analyzing assessment results to develop individualized intervention plans and make recommendations for educational programs and services.
  • Intervention and Support:

    • Providing counseling and therapy to students individually or in groups to address academic, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
    • Developing and implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with behavior disorders or difficulties.
    • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic progress and social-emotional development.
  • Consultation and Collaboration:

    • Consulting with teachers, administrators, and parents to address concerns related to students' learning, behavior, and mental health.
    • Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to develop and review educational plans for students with disabilities.
    • Collaborating with school staff to create positive and inclusive learning environments that meet the needs of all students.
  • Prevention and Advocacy:

    • Promoting mental health awareness and wellness initiatives within the school community.
    • Implementing programs and interventions to prevent bullying, violence, and substance abuse.
    • Advocating for students' rights and advocating for inclusive practices that support diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
  • Professional Development and Research:

    • Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in school psychology and educational trends.
    • Conducting research and evaluation studies to assess the effectiveness of interventions and programs aimed at improving student outcomes.
    • Contributing to the field of school psychology through publications, presentations, and participation in professional organizations.
