Contract School Physical Therapist 2024-2025 School Year

ProCare Therapy is a school based contract and staffing and recruiting agency. We are working with a school district in Fremont, CA that is looking to hire a physical therapist for the 2024-2025 school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year.

The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. While undergoing your assignment, you will be provided with: competitive compensation, weekly paychecks, and superior healthcare benefits through United Healthcare

Caseload: 

  • Full time time: 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • August 12th, 2024 - June 2nd, 2025 
  • Hours: 7:30 - 4:00
  • Itinerant: 1-4 school sites
  • K-12th grade
  • Working with 2-3 other physical therapists
  • Summer school: Part time hours 20-30
  • Summer school dates 6/6/24 - 7/3/2024

Responsibilities: 

  • Screens and/or evaluates students who have been referred to occupational therapy in the areas of fine motor performance, coordination, postural stability, perceptual motor performance, sensory processing and self-regulation and activities of daily living/functional skills (such as written productions and classroom tool use) with emphasis on present level of performance as related to academic functioning.
  • Consults and collaborates with teachers and other specialists regarding appropriate motor activities, self-help skills, sensory needs, adaptations, and special equipment or assistive devices as necessary.
  • Maintains accurate records of students evaluated and served in occupational therapy program; including assessment results, IEP progress and other documentation or reports as needed.
  •  Participates in designated team meetings, individual education plan conferences and periodic reviews involving assessment, programming and reevaluation decisions.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy 
  • California Physical Therapist license
  • Previous school based experience preferred
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
