School Physical Therapist - Early Childhood

Contract School Physical Therapist 2023-2024 School Year

ProCare Therapy is a school based contract and staffing and recruiting agency. We are working with a school district in Providence, RI that is looking to hire a physical therapist for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year.

The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. While undergoing your assignment, you will be provided with: competitive compensation, weekly paychecks, and superior healthcare benefits through United Healthcare

Caseload: 

• Full time: 30-40 hours per week
• Monday - Friday
• Hours: 8:00 -4:30
• Itinerant: 1-4 school sites
• Early childhood intervention

Responsibilities: 

• Screens and/or evaluates students who have been referred to occupational therapy in the areas of fine motor performance, coordination, postural stability, perceptual motor performance, sensory processing and self-regulation and activities of daily living/functional skills (such as written productions and classroom tool use) with emphasis on present level of performance as related to academic functioning.
• Consults and collaborates with teachers and other specialists regarding appropriate motor activities, self-help skills, sensory needs, adaptations, and special equipment or assistive devices as necessary.
• Maintains accurate records of students evaluated and served in occupational therapy program; including assessment results, IEP progress and other documentation or reports as needed.
•  Participates in designated team meetings, individual education plan conferences and periodic reviews involving assessment, programming and reevaluation decisions.

Requirements:

• Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy 
• Rhode Island Physical Therapist license
• Previous school based experience preferred
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

• 20-30 Minute virtual interview directly with the school district
