ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate School Paraprofessional to join our team in Burlington, VT. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a crucial role in supporting students and teachers in their educational journey. Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment conducive to student growth and development.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to address student needs effectively.
- Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, and during outdoor activities.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies as needed.
- Support students with special needs, including but not limited to those with physical, emotional, or learning disabilities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or childcare setting is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students of all abilities.
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students and follow instructional plans provided by teachers.
- Flexibility and willingness to assist with various tasks as needed.
