Contract Certified School Nurse for the 2024-2025 School Year

We are working with a school district located in Oxnard, CA that is looking to hire certified school nurse for the 2024-2025 school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year.

The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic health conditions.
• Conduct health assessments and screenings, and maintain accurate health records.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with special health needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Educate students, families, and staff on health-related topics and promote healthy lifestyles.
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to create a safe and healthy school environment.
• Serve as a liaison between the school, families, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
• Participate in school-based health promotion activities and initiatives

Job Type: Contract Certified School Nurse

• Full Time: 37.5 hours/week
• August 2024 - June 2025
• TK-8th grade caseload 
• Certified School Nurse Certificate or willing to apply for Emergency Certification
• RN will be based in school's health office
• Responsibilities will include: following health care plans, diabetic care, asthma care, medication administration, first aid, triage, etc. 
• More details of caseload and responsibilities will be discussed on an interview with the Director of Pupil Services

Requirements:

• Must have Certified School Nurse Certificate (CSN) or willing to apply for preliminary certification 
• Active RN license in California
• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing
• Previous school nursing or pediatric experience is preferred
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

• 10 –15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
• 20-30 Minute virtual interview directly with the school district
• Offer is typically within 24-48 hours of the virtual interview
