School-Based Registered Nurse (RN)

Procare Therapy is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year. This position is based in Pacifica, CA, and offers part-time hours, working approximately 20 hours per week. As a contracted school-based RN, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of students in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care and support to students within a school setting.
- Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify students' medical needs and develop appropriate care plans.
- Administer medication, treatments, and first aid as needed, ensuring compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
- Monitor and manage student immunization records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide health education and counseling to students, families, and staff members on various health-related topics.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and documentation.
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations governing school health services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
