School-Based Registered Nurse (RN)

Procare Therapy is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year in Bellwood, IL. As a School-Based Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare services to students and supporting their overall well-being within the school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students according to their individual needs and healthcare plans.
- Assess and monitor students' health conditions, including administering medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide necessary first aid or emergency care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting all interactions and services provided.
- Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including proper hygiene, medication management, and disease prevention.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss students' healthcare needs and develop appropriate strategies.
- Adhere to all relevant legal, ethical, and professional guidelines and maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Stay updated on current healthcare practices and trends related to pediatric nursing.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Prior experience in pediatric or school nursing is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate healthcare interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff members.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in school health services.
- Current CPR and first aid certifications.
Employment Details:
- This is a full-time position working during regular school hours for the 2023-2024 school year.
- The selected candidate will be contracted by Procare Therapy and will receive hourly compensation based on qualifications and experience.
