School-Based Registered Nurse (RN)

Procare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year in Monterey, CA. As an RN in this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of students while collaborating with a team of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) in the school health offices.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to students with various healthcare needs, including acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and disabilities.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Assess, evaluate, and document students' health conditions, and develop individualized healthcare plans.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and effective communication.
- Train and supervise CNA/LVN staff members in the health offices, providing guidance and support.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, following HIPAA regulations and school policies.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care and first aid as needed.
- Educate students, staff, and parents/guardians on health-related topics and promote a healthy school environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Previous experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced school environment.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to school nursing.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
Contract Details:
- Employment will be contracted through Procare Therapy.
- This is a full-time position, following the regular school calendar for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Hourly pay will be competitive and based on experience.
