Procare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team for a rewarding opportunity in an elementary school setting in Phoenix, AZ. This position involves working with a student on a 1:1 basis, providing essential healthcare support throughout the 2023-2024 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to a single student, ensuring their health and safety within the school environment.
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for the student, in collaboration with parents, school staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Administer medication, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by the student's healthcare provider.
- Monitor the student's health condition, including vital signs, and promptly respond to any changes or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for the student, documenting observations, interventions, and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, administrators, and other healthcare providers to facilitate the student's overall well-being and academic success.
- Participate in meetings and collaborate with the school's multidisciplinary team to develop and implement appropriate strategies to support the student's healthcare needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Arizona.
- Prior experience in pediatric nursing or school nursing is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of common childhood illnesses, medications, and treatments.
- Ability to effectively manage medical emergencies and respond promptly to health-related incidents.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate medical records.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing situations in a school environment.
Contract Details: This position is contracted by Procare Therapy and is for the duration of the 2023-2024 school year. The nurse will work full-time hours on an hourly pay basis. Procare Therapy offers competitive compensation and benefits packages for its contracted employees.
