Procare Therapy, a leading provider of healthcare staffing solutions, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Monterey, CA. This position is for a 1:1 case, providing individualized healthcare support to a student throughout the 2023-2024 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to an assigned student with specialized healthcare needs in an educational setting.
- Administer medication, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by the student's healthcare provider.
- Monitor the student's health condition and respond promptly to any changes or emergencies.
- Collaborate with the student's family, teachers, and other school staff to develop and implement a care plan.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, healthcare providers, and the school administration regarding the student's healthcare needs.
- Promote a safe and healthy environment for the student and provide health education as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of California.
- Prior experience working with pediatric or school-based nursing is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical procedures, medications, and emergency protocols.
- Ability to work independently and make sound nursing judgments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the student's family and the school team.
- Adherence to ethical and professional standards of nursing practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
