Job Opening: Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Santa Barbara, CA

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Santa Barbara, CA for the 2024-2025 school year. This part-time position involves providing nursing support at two school locations within the district. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality healthcare services to students, promoting wellness initiatives, and collaborating with school staff to ensure the health and safety of all students.

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
• Previous experience working in a school or pediatric healthcare setting preferred
• Knowledge of pediatric health issues, treatments, and medications
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Flexibility to work part-time hours (2 days/week, 15 hours total)

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care and first aid to students and staff as needed
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies
• Assess and evaluate student health needs and develop individualized care plans
• Monitor and manage student health conditions, including chronic illnesses and disabilities
• Conduct health screenings and immunization assessments
• Educate students, families, and staff on health-related topics and wellness initiatives
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to promote a safe and healthy school environment
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation
• Participate in meetings and trainings as required by the school district

Schedule:
Two days per week, totaling 15 hours. Specific schedule to be determined.
