Registered Nurse Position Open in Sumter, SC

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the 2024-2025 academic year in Sumter, SC.

Duties:

• Conduct hearing and vision screening tests as well as all other tests recommended by the State Board of Education and the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
• Take responsibility for the selection and referral of students in need of medical and dental care.
• Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
• Maintain up-to-date cumulative health records on all students.
• Observe students regularly to detect health needs.
• Assume authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or emergency illness.
• Contact homes of children referred by principals for health reasons.
• Advise on modification of the educational program to meet the health needs of individual students.
• Authorize exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
• Attend committee meetings and conferences regarding health service and health curriculum.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as designated.
