Phoenix, AZ Seeking Experienced ASL Interpreter!

ProCare Therapy is seeking a passionate ASL Interpreter the remaining school year for a contract position located near Phoenix, AZ. This is an excellent school district with lots of support with wonderful colleagues and students. For anyone commuting for this position, we can provide travel and housing stipends to help compensate for the drive.

 

Qualifications:

1. Certification from a recognized interpreting program or national certification as an ASL interpreter (e.g., RID certification).
2. Proficiency in both ASL and English, with the ability to accurately interpret between the two languages.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and facilitate effective communication.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Provide accurate and effective interpretation between ASL and spoken English in a variety of settings, including but not limited to meetings, presentations, appointments, and events.
2. Adapt interpreting style and techniques to accommodate the communication needs and preferences of deaf or hard of hearing individuals.
3. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of conduct and ethical practice.
