We are working with a school district located in Cupertino, CA that is looking to hire a paraprofessional for their summer school program and will have the opportunity to renew for the 2024-2025 school year.
The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. - Monday - Thursday
- Hours: 8:00Â - 12:30
- June 24th - July 25th, 2024
- K-12th grade openings
- Assisting lead teacher with instruction and classroom support
- Duties may include assisting students with a variety of disabilities with hygiene, feeding, toileting/changing, classroom support, etc.
- More details of the position and caseload will be discussed on an interview with Director of Pupil Services
Job duties:Â
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing instructional plans and activities.
- Work with individual students or small groups to provide additional instruction or support as needed.
- Assist students with ADL's, toileting/changing, feedings, and wheelchair transfers.
- Help maintain order and discipline in the classroom.
- Provide academic support to students, including helping with assignments, homework, and projects.
- Assist students with special needs, such as those with disabilities or English language learners, in accessing the curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Help manage and address behavioral issues by implementing strategies outlined by the teacher or school.
- Encourage positive behavior and social interaction among students
Requirements:
- Paraprofessional license in California preferred
- High school diploma or associates degree in related field
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
