Description: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Paraprofessional to join our team for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year in Palos Park, IL. This is a full-time position with hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, including a duty-free lunch period. As a Paraprofessional, you will provide support to students in kindergarten through 5th grade, assisting with classroom activities and ensuring the well-being and academic success of all students.
Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and lesson preparation
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as directed by the teacher
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and lunch/recess periods
- Support students with special needs, including those with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other support staff
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree or higher preferred)
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
