Part-Time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH)
Location: Port Chester, NY
Position Type: Part-time (5+ hours per week)

Are you a skilled Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)? ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a part-time DHH for a position in Port Chester, NY. This role requires proficiency in ASL, NYS DHHT certification, and preference will be given to candidates with dual special education certification. The hourly pay rate starts at $45+, and an immediate start date is available.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) to facilitate communication and language development
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' educational needs and progress
- Provide consultation and training to school staff regarding accommodations and modifications for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or related field
- New York State certification as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
- Dual certification in Special Education preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
