Job Description: ProCare Therapy is dedicated to providing exceptional educational opportunities for students with special needs. We are currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team in Sacramento, CA, on a contract basis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students by providing them with the support and guidance they need to succeed academically and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that instructional strategies are tailored to meet the unique learning goals of each student
- Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Use data-driven assessment methods to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to promote student growth and achievement
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and communication with parents and team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential
- Previous experience working with students with special needs, including knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff
