Job Description: ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team in Sacramento, CA. As a contract position, you will play a crucial role in empowering students with special needs to achieve academic success and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that instructional goals and accommodations are tailored to each student's unique learning profile
- Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies and assistive technologies to support student learning
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and support staff, to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and data collection, and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote student success
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on effective interventions and supports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential
- Previous experience working with students with special needs, with a strong understanding of best practices in special education instruction and behavior management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
