Job Description: ProCare Therapy is seeking a dynamic and compassionate School Counselor to join our team in Mill Valley, CA. In this contract position, you will play a crucial role in providing counseling, guidance, and support services to students, helping them navigate the challenges of school and adolescence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social, and emotional concerns and promote personal growth and well-being
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students' academic success and social-emotional development
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties
- Lead classroom presentations and workshops on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and study skills
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, connecting them with community resources and support services as needed
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in School Counseling or related field
- Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential with a specialization in School Counseling
- Previous experience working as a School Counselor in a K-12 educational setting preferred
- Strong counseling and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
- Knowledge of counseling techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and student development theories
