Job Description: ProCare Therapy is currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate School Behavior Technician to provide support to students with behavioral needs in Halifax, NC. In this contract position, you will work closely with school staff and students to implement behavior intervention plans and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of a certified behavior analyst or special education teacher
- Provide direct support to students with behavioral challenges, including reinforcement of positive behaviors and de-escalation of challenging behaviors
- Collect and record data on student behavior and progress towards behavioral goals, providing regular updates to the educational team
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement strategies for promoting positive behavior and academic success
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in behavior management techniques
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred)
- Previous experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges, preferably in a school or educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
- Willingness to undergo background checks and meet any other requirements set forth by the school district
