Contract Intervention Specialist for 23-24 School Year

We are working with a school district that is located in Toledo, OH that is looking to hire a contract special education teacher to join their team for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year.

The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. Caseload: Hybrid Intervention Specialist

  • Full time: 40 hours per week
  • Hours: 7:30 - 3:30
  • Elementary caseload
  • Push-in and pull out model
  • Pay: $37 per hour

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with a team of professionals, including parents, school administrators, and other special education staff, to assess students' needs and develop personalized IEPs.
  • Set specific and measurable goals for each student, outlining the accommodations, modifications, and support services required.
  • Create lesson plans tailored to individual students' needs, incorporating various teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Adapt curriculum materials to suit the abilities and learning styles of students with disabilities.
  • Deliver direct instruction to students, either in a special education classroom or within an inclusive classroom setting.
  • Implement specialized teaching techniques and interventions to address learning challenges.
  • Regularly assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to conduct formal and informal assessments to determine students' strengths and areas of improvement.
  • Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and collaborate with other professionals to address students' needs.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide support and guidance for students in developing social skills and self-regulation.
  • Stay current with developments in special education and attend professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education
  • Ohio Intervention Specialist license (IS), ECE or Substitute license (Must have IS exerpience)
  • Previous school experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

  • 20-30 Minute virtual interview directly with the school district
