Job Title: School Psychologist
Location: Coventry, RI
Duration: ASAP - End of School Year (EOSY), with potential for renewal

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to join our team in Coventry, RI. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with high school students, providing a range of psychological services to support their academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, social-emotional functioning, and behavioral needs.
  • Interpret assessment results and communicate findings to parents/guardians, teachers, and other members of the educational team to inform decision-making and develop appropriate interventions and supports.
  • Collaborate with school staff to design and implement interventions and behavior management strategies to address individual student needs and promote positive behavior and academic success.
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students experiencing social-emotional challenges, trauma, or mental health issues, both individually and in group settings.
  • Participate in the development and review of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, contributing psychological expertise to support the development of appropriate goals, accommodations, and services.
  • Serve as a resource and consultant to school staff, parents, and community agencies, offering guidance on best practices for supporting students' social-emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings, student support team meetings, and crisis intervention meetings, to collaborate on student interventions and support services.
  • Stay informed of current research, trends, and best practices in school psychology and special education, and apply this knowledge to improve services and outcomes for students.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
  • Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in the state of Rhode Island.
  • Experience working with high school students in a school or clinical setting, preferably with diverse populations and varying levels of need.
  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills, including experience administering and interpreting standardized assessments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to promoting the social-emotional well-being and academic success of all students.
