Special Education Teacher for 2024-2025 School Year

At ProCare, our mission is to encourage each child to confidently and proudly achieve his or her full potential. We are working with a school district that is located in Vacaville, CA that is looking to hire special education teachers to join their team for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is directly hired by the school district. Salary for this position is based on district pay scale.

Caseload: Special Education Teacher

  • Full time: 40 hours/week
  • Directly hired by school district
  • Current CA teaching credential
  • K-8th grade caseloads available
  • Moderate-severe caseloads: Elementary & Secondary schools
  • Mild-moderate caseloads: Elementary & Secondary schools
  • More details of caseload and salary will be discussed on an interview with the Director of Special Education

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the IEP team, including teachers, parents, and other specialists, to develop and update individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Regularly assess and monitor the progress of students with disabilities to ensure that they are meeting their educational goals and making appropriate academic and social-emotional progress.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of special education services, accommodations, and related support services to students, ensuring that their needs are met in the least restrictive environment.
  • Work closely with general education teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with disabilities.
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of students with disabilities, ensuring that they have access to appropriate educational resources and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEP meetings, and communication with parents and other stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Active CA Special Education teaching credential 
  • Mild/moderate or moderate/severe endorsement
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education
  • Previous school experience preferred
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

Interview Process:

  • 10 –15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
  • 20-30 Minute virtual interview directly with the school district
  • Offer is typically within 24-48 hours of the virtual interview
