Contract School Occupational Therapist for 2024-2025 School Year

We are partnered with a school district located in Evergreen, CO that is looking to hire a contract occupational therapist for the  2024-2025 school year and the extended school year. This position will have the opportunity to renew for the following school year.

With students’ needs becoming increasingly individualized, the demand for school professionals is at an all-time high. And the demands placed on school professionals are also greater than ever.

Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School-Based Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions that support the development and achievement of students' educational goals.

Caseload Details:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 7:30 - 3:30
  • K-12th grade caseload
  • 2024-2025 school year

Responsibilities: 

  • Screen and evaluate students who have been referred to occupational therapy in the areas of fine motor performance, coordination, postural stability, perceptual motor performance, sensory processing and self-regulation and activities of daily living/functional skills (such as written productions and classroom tool use) with emphasis on present level of performance as related to academic functioning.
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers and other specialists regarding appropriate motor activities, self-help skills, sensory needs, adaptations, and special equipment or assistive devices as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of students evaluated and served in occupational therapy program; including assessment results, IEP progress and other documentation or reports as needed.
  •  Participate in designated team meetings, individual education plan conferences and periodic reviews involving assessment, programming and reevaluation decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active Colorado OT license
  • CPR certification.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

  • 20-30 Minute virtual interview directly with the school district
  • Offer is typically within 24-48 hours of the virtual interview
