Full Time Paraprofessionals/Classroom Aides needed!

Job Title: Paraprofessionals
Location: Topsham, ME
Duration: ASAP to End of School Year (EOSY)

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students with diverse needs in various educational settings, including elementary to high school ages.
• Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
• Support students with academic tasks, behavior management, social skills development, and personal care needs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and related service providers to ensure students' needs are met effectively.
• Provide supervision and assistance during classroom activities, transitions, and outdoor activities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to students' academic and social-emotional growth.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior observations as directed by the supervising teacher or special education team.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate's or bachelor's degree preferred).
• Previous experience working with students in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and implement strategies outlined in IEPs and BIPs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work with students with diverse needs and in various settings.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and training as required by the school district.
