EXCITING NEW School RN Position - Mocksville, NC!!

Position: School Nurse (1:1) - RN/LPN Location: Mocksville, NC Start Date: Immediate End Date: June 11th, 2024

Job Details:

• Provide one-on-one nursing support to a high school student with complex medical needs
• Student requires tracheostomy care and ventilator support, as well as assistance with activities of daily living due to mobility limitations
• Collaborate closely with the student's healthcare team, including physicians, therapists, and caregivers, to ensure comprehensive care
• Monitor the student's vital signs, respiratory status, and overall health throughout the school day
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including tube feedings and suctioning
• Assist the student with positioning, transfers, and mobility using specialized equipment
• Document all nursing interventions, observations, and communication with the healthcare team in the student's medical records

Qualifications:

• Current RN or LPN license in North Carolina
• Previous experience working with pediatric or adolescent patients with complex medical needs, including tracheostomy and ventilator management
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the student, family members, and school staff
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
