Credentialed School Nurse Job Near King City, CA

Position Details:

Requirements:

• Must have a BSN or MSN (NO EXCEPTIONS)
• Credentialed School Nurse in California (current credential holder) OR BSN with willingness to apply to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) for a preliminary credential

Responsibilities:

• Provide support for classroom inquiries related to student health concerns, such as rashes or fevers.
• Attend to the needs of students in two Gabilan classrooms who are medically fragile or chronically ill.
• Conduct health assessments for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Participate in some IEP meetings and contribute to the development of healthcare plans for students.
• Document services provided, including any health-related interventions and assessments.
• Conduct staff training sessions on specialized physical health care needs, such as medication administration, g-tube management, and seizure monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with state reporting requirements, such as immunization records.
• Conduct vision and hearing screenings for students.
• The position does not require daily travel to all sites, as most work is conducted in King City.
• Currently, there are 110 students, the majority of whom do not require medical attention.

Qualifications:

• BSN or MSN degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Current California credential as a School Nurse or willingness to apply for a preliminary credential through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
• Experience working in a school or educational setting is preferred.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
