24-25 Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) - Richmond, IL

ProCare Therapy is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for a position in a school district located in Richmond. The SLI will be responsible for providing services to elementary and high school students with diverse learning needs. Details are provided below. 

Qualifications:

• SLI license through ELIS
• 1+ year of experience, preferred
• Must pass drug screen and background check upon offer

Job Details:

• 2024-2025 school year
• Full Time (37.5 hours/week)
• Working 1:1 with 4th grade student and high schooler
• Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm
• Onsite only

Responsibilities:

• interpret spoken language into sign language (and vice versa) during classroom instruction
• bridge the communication gap between deaf or hard of hearing students and their peers, teachers, and other school personnel
• serve as cultural and linguistic mediators, helping to bridge any cultural gaps between the deaf or hard of hearing student and their hearing peers and educators
